I am thinking… about the many tasks I have the privilege of tackling today

I am wearing… workclothes – tiered demin skirt, smock top, sneakers
I am creating... a blog entry
I am going... to make it quick and get back to work

I am hoping… Kent will be pleased and surprised by all I accomplish today
I am hearing… the wind gusting mightily
Around the house… sorting items to take when we move, sewing up fake wasp nests, washing and hanging laundry, making room in the sewing room for my new treadle sewing machine
One of my favorite things (today) is… seeing my nine year old cat tearing around after imaginary somethings like a kitten

- Age/Gender: Old enough to know better, still a child at heart; Creativity is rooted deeply within me. I find many simple ways to be creative, whether it's creating a warm and inviting space for friends and family, cooking a delicious meal, or making up new songs for my chickens. My favorite way to get creative, though, is with the use of color and fiber. I have far more ideas and plans than time will ever allow me to bring to fruition but that's alright by me. I love to sew. For years that sewing mostly involved garments and home decor. Then I discovered quilting and my sewing passions were renewed. From planning to piecing to free-motion quilting and setting the binding - I get completely jazzed about the endless possibilities of design and color that lay before me. My blog, my Etsy shop, and really, my whole life, feed off of that need to be creative every day. My dreams are big - to someday see original designs published and have my own long-arm quilting machine. I believe our dreams help keep us young and our hard work keeps us grounded. So I'll keep working hard at turning out beautiful, well-made and useful creations and move a little closer to my dreams.

Fake wasp nests?
Yup. We've been having a problem with wasps building nests on the house this year. Then I saw The Waspinator in the Lehman's catalogue. Turns out that wasps, hornets and yellowjackets are territorial and you can fake them out that the area is already occupied by hanging a fake nest.
