Day 2 - Davenport, IA - Meadville, PA

Wednesday, August 4th - Day Two on the road. We pulled out of Davenport by 9:30 am. As we crossed into Illinois, we would find much construction and slower traffic, especially around Chicago and Cleveland. We drove diligently but decided to stop for a real meal around 9 pm. Had a sit down dinner at a Cleveland Cracker
Barrel for our 9th anniversary, then drove on into Pennsylvania, straight through Linesville, and arrived in Meadville at 1:00 am. When we realized that we would not make it until the wee hours, Stephanie had called and talked to her uncle Brian, who was able to look up pet friendly hotels for us while we were on the road. She’d called and made a reservation for us with the pets. Whew! Glad to be so near our destination and get a good night’s sleep.

This is the party vehicle - Steph was a great traveling companion and kept me cheerful and alert.
